Fantastic hosts go above and beyond, making for a welcoming experience. The spacious room was clean and comfortable, complete with a delightful selection of teas and even hot chocolate. The breakfast room offered lovely local dishes, but bring earplugs, as the location can be noisy at times. Having parking available is a major plus in this busy area.

Just a well-suited match for a passing visit in York with good value for price. The bed was really comfy and nice fresh linen. Choose a room away from the street if noise bothers you.

My room was spacious and cozy, with a nice en suite bathroom. It was well-decorated, and the bed was super comfortable. The shower was a bit cramped, but overall it felt homely and had a great tea and coffee selection with biscuits. being near the busy road meant I'd hear the traffic and some revelers at night, especially on weekends.

Perfect Stay in an Amazing Location!
I had a fantastic two-night stay in a Deluxe Double Room. The location couldn't be better, just a short walk to the Minster and surrounded by lovely cafes and shops. Mark and Joyce provided a warm welcome and the breakfast options were impressive and well-cooked. The only downside was that the parking space was a bit tight, but Mark was very helpful in guiding us through that.

Gillygate Guest House offered a delightful experience during my stay. The location made exploring York's rich history effortless, while the hosts provided valuable local insights. The only downside was the inadequate water pressure in the shower, but the overall charm of the guest house made it worthwhile.

York's culinary treasures are a must-try, from the irresistible treats at Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms to the hearty bites at Mamma Mia—proper scran! The location is bang on, just a stone's throw from the city centre and a well-stocked tea/coffee tray in the room made for a comfy stay.
On the flip side, the water pressure in the shower was a bit naff, and the pillows might as well have been pancakes—flatter than a Yorkshire moor! that musty smell hits you as you walk in. a little TLC wouldn't go amiss.
